Cal/OSHA Update: What to Watch for in 2022
Featured Speakers

Len Welsh is the former Chief of Cal/OSHA. He is currently Principal Consultant with Baker & Welsh, LLC. He is recognized for his expertise and success in litigation and settlement strategies, as well as his skill in forging cooperative relationships between management and labor organizations.
Following his departure from Cal/OSHA in 2011, he served as Counsel and Acting Chief Counsel to the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations. Len has more than 30 years of experience in the practice and administration of occupational safety and health and related environmental law.
Andrew Sommer is managing partner of Conn Maciel Carey LLP’s California practice. He represents clients in inspections, investigations, enforcement actions, and notices of alleged hazards involving Cal/OSHA and other state plans, Andrew defends clients against Cal/OSHA citations, advises clients in managing incident and fatality inspections, and assists clients in developing safety programs.
He is a frequent speaker at conferences and events and writes extensively on issues related to Cal/OSHA compliance and other employment issues.


Megan Stevens Shaked is an Associate of Conn Maciel Carrey LLP. She represents clients in inspections, investigations and enforcement actions involving Cal/OSHA. She also represents clients in employment matters, including claims of discrimination and harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, and accessibility issues under Title III of the ADA.
She assists employers in the development of employment and safety policies, hiring and termination decisions, and wage and hour and Cal/OSHA compliance.
